Bryan's Characteristics

Bryan is a very troubled teenager, since the death of his sister Michelle his personality has done a 360. He has lost himself in a world of his own where nothing exists but the pain he feels within himself. Additionally, Bryan has always kept to himself, he was never very sociable person. He didn't enjoy going to school but when he did, he did it for his mother. On the other hand, Bryan always been a bit of a outsider, he stood tall and skinny with brown eyes framed by dark circles, had long black hair that just brushed his shoulders. He had his mother's sculpted cheek bones and long black eye lashes. He only ever wore a black T-shirts with jeans. The type of characteristics that Bryan holds are very similar to the ones that every teenager withholds at times he can be very selfish, cowardly, lazy, childish and ignorant even though he is a very intelligent person. All of these characteristics can relate to everyone of us because we either have them ourselves or have all come to terms with someone like this in our life, whether it being someone in our family, a friend or even someone you see within the school. Bryan hasn't always made the best decisions in his life, he has pushed the most important people away from him, he has pushed away the people that love him the most. Ever since Michelle pasted away he has forgotten how to love again, he feels nothing but numb. He fears that loving someone again will only lead him to the devastation of loosing someone that he loves and i believe he fears the aspect of pain. In reading this book it gives you a very different perspective on that person, showing how there is much more than what meets the eye.

Have you ever been put in a situation where you just want to take the easy route instead of taking the highroad? Explain.

  1. Every awkward or hard situation that i'm put in, I contemplate taking the east route even though I know it will disappoint me so, I have a conversation with myself, going over the pros and cons, so that I re-assure myself that the highroad is the way to go.

  2. Good question! Sometimes the easy route works out, and sometimes I regret not 'going the distance'. We often learn more about ourselves through perserverance and determination. I often don't take the easy way out and then I kinda regret not doing it because the situation/problem becomes so big and overwhelming that it takes over my life! ugh!

  3. The highroad is a good test in character and you should always take that road. I think that people will usually take this way because they always want a challenge. Sometimes if it is handed to them it doesnt have the same value
